CHARACTER #3:
Name:
Darius1
Role in Story:
Our third and final protagonist! He does not come into the story until much later in the first book, but once he is in…oh boy, I am going to have fun writing his character!
Darius grew up on the streets, living by his wits from one day to the next. In a crowded city with guards posted on every corner and the sprawling streets lined with merchants and visitors, it tends to make life more exciting than otherwise. However, once he meets Verity who becomes the sister he never had and becomes involved with the Hope Rebellion,2 he leaves that life behind and starts on a journey to erase the memories of his less-than-perfect past by rising to join the fight for truth and freedom.
Finally, Darius has a cause to stand behind. For the first time, he has a purpose in life, and it thrills him in the way eluding soldiers and trying to survive for twenty-four hours at a time never could. It’s as though he has a new start in life, and it’s wonderful.
Until it’s not.
Because the one thing he never counted on was the “something warmer than friendship” feelings that come up in regards to a brave young girl with royal blood in her veins.
Common street urchins don’t fall in love with princesses.
And princesses don’t fall in love with common street boys.
If only life could be simple again.
